This teaching by Pastor Adam Bernal explores the dynamic of when one faces a dire or troubling situation – which at most times is of our own doing – and how God requires us to ‘dig deep’ in dry valleys to find the answer. The sermon explores how Jehoshaphat, the King of Judah, foolishly aligned himself with Ahab, a not-so-good King of Israel (1 Kings 22) and the near disaster that ensued. However, with only one just man (King Jehoshaphat), the Lord was able to deliver and save them. We learn that, in most situations, that’s all the Lord needs – one just person.

How much do we know about God? Are we merely supposed to worship God but not know Him? The prophet Isaiah instructs us to, Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near (55:6). Yet how does God, who cannot be seen with the natural eye, relate to humans? God’s chosen way of restoring relationship with His creation is covenant. With the book of Genesis as his starting point, Dick Bernal, founding pastor of Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose, CA, creates a vivid portrait of God’s redemptive plan for His people by examining covenant as it unfolds through biblical history and into our lives today.
